- Acqua Di Parma Rosa Nobile
My rating: 9/10
A tribute to the “queen of flowers,” the Rose reveals in this fragrance all of its preciousness and elegance. A composition that opens with soft and vibrant notes of Sicilian Mandarin and Calabrian Bergamot combined with pepper. In the heart, intense and velvety accents of Peony, Violet, and Lily of the Valley anticipate the enveloping richness of Centifolia Rose from Italy. The fragrance closes with a crescendo of emotion with a dry down of precious and warm notes: cedar wood, ambergris, and musk. A refined and timeless eau de parfum that celebrates the beauty of innate feminine charm.

A rebellious material that is intoxicatingly beautiful, Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud has faceted this oud with a hint of benzoin and raspberry accents. Far away, a smoky wisp of incense floats towards the heavens.

Paparazzi will surround the mystery man wearing this oriental-woody fragrance for men. The scent opens with citrus, mandarin, bergamot, and the aromatic nuances of thyme and elemi. The heart notes are floral and masculine; they include lavender, jasmine, rosewood and cedar.

Base notes of earthy musk, smoky cedar and balsamic amber provide a strong foundation for this aroma. The heart of the fragrance blends a variety of fresh, aquatic notes with ginger, oxygen and freshly cut grass. The cologne is topped off with juicy, zesty notes of bitter orange, citron, grapefruit and bergamot.

It is an enveloping, comfortably endearing fragrance,” explains François Demachy, perfumer of the house of Dior.
From the blonde tobacco leaves, to the 'gris' tobacco, and dark tobacco blends… Tobacco, with its rich colors and pungent aromas, has inspired joyful new hues for Tobacolor by Maison Christian Dior. The fragrance opens up like a rainbow of colors and senses: the brown nuances of tobacco and shimmering shades of plum and peach blend with the golden tones of honeyed notes.

The weekend was a blur. With a double shot of espresso in hand and a swagger in your step, you take an extra circle around the block, mouthing the lyrics to the song blasting in your headphones. Lively citrus notes provide the energetic jolt you need to crush the day, while fruity elements like peach skin and apple take the edge off the intensity. Clary sage and sandalwood mingle for a piquant mood-boost, while comforting notes like suede and skin musk keep the scent (and you) grounded. It’s going to be an interesting week, you can already tell.

- Chanel Allure Homme: Edition Blanche
My rating: 8/10
The first level brings spicy aromas of black pepper united with pink pepper from Madagascar. The second level brings in fresh aromas with the scent of leather, Sicilian lemon, Calabrian bergamot, and sandalwood which gives it a depth.
The third level introduces oriental accords with Brazilian Tonka, white musk, Haiti vetiver and sandal wood. This level also reveals aromas of ginger and velvety vanilla wrapped in amber. The fourth level brings woodsy accords of cedar wood which add to the masculine character of this fragrance.

This elegant scent combines the rustle of silk and the soft touch of a rose petal. Notes: Italian bergamot, blue chamomile from Morocco, Bulgarian rose, hedione, guaiac wood, oud from Laos, papyrus from India.

My rating: 9/10
Irreverently playing with the idea of ‘blue’ scents – perfumes with decidedly conventional personalities, much like the suit-wearing figure in The Art Of Living – Opus XV opens with a bright, innocent mandarin. Pink pepper adds an attention-grabbing sparkle, while blackcurrant accentuates its sharpness. But soon, a different tune begins to play.

The scent evokes relaxed, yet refined style with a lime-water infusion accord, green aromatics and sensual sandalwood. It captures the easy style and relaxed glamour of Mustique, a private island nestled in the Eastern Caribbean.

To Boadicea and her people, the twisted golden torc that held her legendary flaming red hair was symbolic of strength, power, nobility and status. The same can be said of Torc the perfume, a fiery concoction full of victorious overtones. Heady tones of rose, jasmine, pepper and heliotrope in the nucleus give way to an earthy undertow embracing oud, orris, leather, musk and patchouli, while a veritable banquet of top note fresh fruits enlivens the olfactory senses. For the questing soul, for the powerful at play, magnificent Torc will lead the way.

My rating: 8/10
The vibrant notes of fiery red pepper and spicy cinnamon ignite your senses and slowly reveal a powerful heart of flaming habanero pepper, before settling into a smoky leather and deep woody accord.
