Scholar's Circle Vol #5: Respectability Politics

Welcome back, scholars. The following is taboo. If you keep up with the movement of society, the American government is getting stricter and I support it. From a having a horrible decision maker as Commander-in-Chief to having a certain group of men who proclaim to be Kings costing the government $50B due to being unproductive & another group who proclaims to be the Superior Male yet costing the states of Florida & Tennessee alone $7B. These two men once had kingdoms that their forefathers built but now both are liabilities while simulateanously being rivals since time immemorial. If you ask me, I think the USA needs a reset and then lock down on today's topic, Respectability Politics.

Who coined the term "Respectability Politics"?

The term "respectability politics" has been used by various scholars and activists over the years, but it was first popularized in the 1990s by political scientist and feminist Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham. Higginbotham used the term in her book "Righteous Discontent: The Women's Movement in the Black Baptist Church, 1880-1920" to describe the ways in which black women in the church were encouraged to conform to social norms of respectability in order to gain acceptance and legitimacy within their communities.

Since then, the term has been widely used to describe similar dynamics in other marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, and people with disabilities.

What is respectability politics?
Respectability politics refers to the idea that marginalized individuals or groups must conform to dominant cultural norms and values in order to gain acceptance and respect from the broader society. This typically involves adhering to certain standards of behavior, appearance, and language that are deemed appropriate by the dominant culture.

Examples of respectability politics might include advocating for assimilation into mainstream culture, avoiding behaviors or language that are seen as "unprofessional" or "uneducated," and distancing oneself from other members of one's marginalized group who are seen as "deviant" or "undesirable."

However, critics of respectability politics argue that it places an unfair burden on marginalized individuals to conform to the standards of the dominant culture, rather than challenging those standards and advocating for genuine equality and acceptance. They also point out that respectability politics often reinforces existing power structures and can perpetuate discrimination against those who do not conform.

The face of negative politics is the black man. Here's the conflict with respectability politics and black men.

It is important to note that not all Black men reject respectability politics, and opinions on the strategy are diverse within the Black community. However, there are some reasons why some Black men may be critical of respectability politics.

One reason is that respectability politics can be seen as placing an unfair burden on Black individuals to conform to dominant cultural norms that may be oppressive or discriminatory. Black men, in particular, may feel that the narrow standards of respectability limit their ability to express themselves authentically and to challenge existing power structures.

Additionally, some Black men may reject respectability politics as a means of survival in a society that is fundamentally unjust. They may argue that the focus on respectability detracts from the real issues of systemic racism and discrimination that underlie many of the problems facing the Black community.

Finally, some Black men may reject respectability politics because they see it as reinforcing negative stereotypes about Black pseudo-masculinity. The emphasis on conforming to dominant cultural norms of behavior and language may be seen as undermining the strength and resilience that are often associated with Black male identity.

In total, the rejection of respectability politics by some Black men is part of a larger conversation about the ways in which the Black community can navigate a society that is often hostile and discriminatory. While there is no one-size-fits-all solution, it is important to listen to diverse voices within the Black community and to work together to challenge systemic inequality and discrimination.

Here's my brief statement. Despite the history, time evolves. I subscribe to the fact that respectability politics is good for Black Men due to black men voluntarily becoming a horrible image rather than rising and contesting an oppression. Let's answer some great questions to confirm my statement on why fixing the following increases your respect factor.

Why is black male culture so illiterate?
Discipline and culture are not the sole reason for high black male illiteracy rates. While cultural factors and a lack of discipline can contribute to low literacy rates, there are many systemic and institutional factors that also play a significant role.

For example, historical and ongoing systemic racism and discrimination have limited access to education and other resources for Black individuals and communities. This has created a legacy of illiteracy that has persisted to this day. Additionally, Black males are more likely to grow up in low-income households and neighborhoods, which can limit access to quality education and resources.

Underfunded schools, inadequate resources, and a lack of qualified teachers can also contribute to low literacy rates among Black males. Negative cultural attitudes towards education and intellectual pursuits can create a culture that devalues academic achievement and contributes to disengagement from academic materials.

While discipline and cultural factors may play a role in individual cases, it is important to recognize the broader systemic and institutional factors that contribute to high black male illiteracy rates. Addressing these issues requires a multifaceted approach that addresses systemic racism and discrimination, provides access to quality education and resources, and challenges negative cultural attitudes towards education and intellectual pursuits. By working together to address these issues, we can create a more equitable and just society where all individuals have the opportunity to develop their literacy skills and fulfill their potential.

Why don't black men build an infrastructure to protect black youth from systemic racism?

It's simple. Black culture is oversexed and uneducated by choice. It's all about the party rather than the discipline. No accountability and a cowardice culture. You have states like Mississippi, Alabama, Maryland, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia & Florida that black men could build & contest the Dixie culture, it's a straight up refusal to dominate.

Why don't black men marry at high rates?

Immaturity. As a black man who's married to a black woman, I know the truth and as a collective, the truth is
- White Men go for Control
- Asian Men go for Wealth
- African Men go for Competition
- Middle Eastern Men go for Freedom
- Hispanic Men go for Opportunity
- Black Men go for Sex

Sex because it's an illusion of power saying "I dicked her down", when in reality ED runs rampant and if you did and also impregnanted her, black men are America's infamous bastard battalion making illegitimate babies since slavery ended.  That's what drives the Black Man. They'll talk about a BBC for a 403b. They'll break down Indica vs. Sativa but don't know zero-sum game or amortisation. Honestly, we all as men talk about sex but making sex a lifestyle and dedication to horniness is pathetic. Very teenage-ish. Mentally Juvenile. Let me tell you the importance of a wife.
- A companion
- A business partner
- A cook
- A maid
- A mother
- A lover
- A friend
- An intellectual
- A educated woman
- A healthy significant other
- A woman of religious values
- A woman of conservative principles
- A woman who'll pray for you
- A loyalist
- A mature woman

This is wife material & it can be found. If this is something you want but can't find, you're not up to par. Here's qualities you need:
- A builder (a man who supplies opportunities to people)
- An intellectual man
- A great decision maker
- A father
- A man who pays in full (no 50/50, all bills paid)
- A protector
- A man of religious values
- A staunch competitor
- A man of conservative principles
- A loyalist
- A man who prays
- A man of stoic or strict demeanor
- A healthy significant other
- An educated man

This lack of discipline is full circle, it's why
- Black men have gotten fatter
- Black men have became the least productive men in the United States
- 2nd most illiterate men behind Hispanic Men
- Highest divorce rate, lowest marriage rate
- Infamous for marrying the lowest tier of woman morally
- Failure as fathers
- Refusal to pursue college outside of athletics
- Highest domestic violence rate
- Highest homosexual rate
- Most anti-social race of men
- Black men aren't innovative

It's all entitlement, no drive.

In total, respectability politics comes down to being RESPECTABLE universally and void of personal bias on both sides. Respectability politics and black men clash heavier than any race due to black men letting an once respectable culture perish into degeneracy that inhabited from the White Southerners who were rejects of Scotland, Ireland & England. It's the main reason, the South is a culture of degeneracy and lack of respectability. That's why immigrants come to NY, LA, Detroit, Chicago etc. & build because that's the land of true capitalistic value.

Men, get into the Semiconductor Industry!

Welcome back, scholars. Today's topic is about semiconductors and if you've been over here some time, you've seen me offer comprehension to how being invested into semiconductors is crucial & it's why China has a manufacturing economy and we're consumers. America's priorities are messed up, you see how we value a New York and a Los Angeles but we treat Detroit like trash despite Detroit producing more for the infrastructure than both cities. New York has it's banking but banking can't sustain solely without an infrastructure to garnish currency from. It's why China is defeating us because we betrayed the Midwest, America's heart, brain & spine whether it's the Big 3, Motown, Rock & Roll or Northwestern, Notre Dame, University of Michigan, The University of Chicago and Washington University of St. Louis. Let's get into the blog: WHAT IS SEMICONDUCTOR TECHNOLOGY? Semiconductors are materials (usually silicon) that ha...

5 people who should never get close to the white house or become affiliated with the President

Welcome back, scholars. This is a hit piece warning to Black Americans, this is not for Kamala Harris either because I will be dropping a hit piece condemning her as well but we must speak on those dropping hate pieces in politics, promoting confusion or like the moron jumping around in the picture above promoting bribery. I was inspired to make this after the absolute shit show in Madison Square Garden from Donald Trump being the leader of foolishness and having a liar of a vice presidental candidate to Tony Hinchcliffe who's Italian but has the nerve to look down on people as if his people didn't not only beg to accepted by the Anglo but went through lynchings in Louisiana to be accepted. You all know names like Tulsi Gabbard, Ron DeSantis, Anna Paulina Luna, Rachel Levine, JD Vance, Donald Trump, Grant Cardone, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and Josh Shapiro should never touch office. Let's get into this, starting off with honorable mentions. - Marshall ...

Why you will still be mediocre in 2026

Ball just dropped & rent is due and you're somewhere blowing it on Hennessy Lemon Pepper Wings with D'Usse Truffle Fries. Ball dropped before your balls dropped so now it's 2026. Happy New Year! 25 years since 9/11. 10 years since LeBron came back 3-1. 10 years without Ali, Prince, David Bowie etc. America's Bisesquicentennial. 20 years of Twitter. 18 years since the victory of Barack Obama and regardless, it's been a joke for you. Most of you will enter 2026, the same way you entered 2025, a disgrace, a joke, a minstrel, a coughing baby compared to Tsar Bomba. If being a ham & egger was a dynasty, you'd have Tom Brady rings, Joe Montana win percentage and Steve Yzerman consistency & longevity. If Fs got you into Harvard, you'd be a Summa Cum Laude on autopilot. If it was a Least Valuable Player, it'd be named after you the same way Bill Russell is to the Finals MVP. Here's the central point, you suck and you been taking Ls si...
